The government will take a decision on the Grade 5 scholarship examination in 2029, Deputy Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Madura Seneviratne said today.
He told Parliament that a review will be done by 2028 and a decision taken again in 2029.
The Minister said there will be no need to send children to urban schools by that time.
He said the new education reforms will focus on activity based education rather than on the examinations-based primary education system.
