Parliament is set to debate the resolution to remove suspended Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon from office on August 5.
The move follows the findings of the Committee of Inquiry, which, on July 22, concluded that Tennakoon was guilty of all charges related to allegations of gross abuse of power.
The committee had been appointed to investigate the serious accusations levelled against the suspended police chief.
