Justice Mohammed Thahir Laffar, the most senior judge currently serving in this court, has been appointed as the Acting President of the Court of Appeal.
Accordingly, Justice Mohammed Thahir Laffar was sworn in before President Anura Kumara Dissanayake today (02) at the Presidential Secretariat as the Acting President of the Court of Appeal.
Justice Bandula Karunarathna, the incumbent President of the Court of Appeal, has proceeded on pre-retirement leave, which The President accepted it.
This arrangement will remain in effect until a new Acting President of the Court of Appeal is appointed in accordance with the Constitution.
