A woman who was arrested for brutally killing a dog by strangling it and hanging it, at Mankulam in the Northern Province, was remanded yesterday (27) on the order of the Mankulam Magistrate’s Court until February 3.
Police Spokesman SSP Buddhika Manathunga said, that the suspect was arrested on charges of killing the dog by hanging, after photographs of the dog were circulated on social media.
The suspect had hanged the dog by tying it to a tree using a rope around the dog’s neck. The incident occurred on Saturday (25). The Police after conducting investigations had arrested the 48-year-old woman, a resident of the Mankulam area.
