Adani denies cancellation of Wind Power projects in mannar..!

The Adani Group has refuted reports claiming the cancellation of its 484 MW wind power projects in Mannar and Pooneryn, labeling them as “false and misleading.”

In a statement, an Adani Group spokesperson clarified that the Sri Lankan Cabinet’s decision on January 2, 2025, to reevaluate the tariff approved in May 2024 is part of a routine review process.

This reevaluation, they emphasized, is a standard procedure undertaken by the new government to ensure the terms align with their current priorities and energy policies.

“The project has not been cancelled,” the spokesperson affirmed, adding that Adani remains steadfast in its commitment to investing $1 billion in Sri Lanka’s green energy sector. The company’s initiatives aim to bolster renewable energy production while fostering economic growth in the country.

Adani’s wind power projects in Mannar and Pooneryn are pivotal to Sri Lanka’s transition to cleaner energy sources, and the group’s commitment underscores its long-term vision for the nation’s sustainable development.
