“You didn’t drop Adani, They dropped you” – Mano Ganesan MP

TPA Leader and opposition MP Mano Ganesan has sharply criticized the government over the exit of Adani Green Energy from Sri Lanka, calling it a major setback for the country’s investment prospects.

Speaking in Parliament during a debate, Ganesan argued that the Adani Sri Lanka project was not just about generating energy for the local grid but also about exporting power to India.

He asserted that the government’s failure to handle the situation properly had sent negative signals to international investors.

“You didn’t drop Adani. The truth is Adani dropped you,” he stated, emphasizing that the government had misunderstood the strategic importance of the project.

Ganesan also questioned the outcome of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s recent visit to the UAE, asking whether any concrete investment deals had been secured.

He warned that foreign direct investments (FDIs) would only flow into Sri Lanka in partnership with Indian stakeholders, as investors from the Middle East or Europe would not bypass India when considering Sri Lanka.
